The smile design process
1. Consultation and diagnosis
The dentist listens to what you would like to change and reviews your dental and medical history. Teeth, gums, bite and existing restorations are examined. Necessary photographs, scans, impressions or X-rays are then selected.
2. Priorities and alternatives
We separate health needs from elective aesthetic wishes and explain suitable options. If whitening, alignment or bonding can achieve the objective with less tooth preparation, that should be part of the discussion.
3. Preview and temporary stage
For selected multi-tooth cases, a digital preview, model or temporary restoration may help assess proportions and communicate expectations. A preview is a planning aid, not a guarantee of an identical biological result.
4. Definitive treatment and checks
The planned treatment is completed in the correct clinical sequence. Ceramic cases can include preparation, temporary restorations, laboratory work, try-ins and final fitting. Shade, contacts, speech and bite are checked before completion.
Natural, bright or highly uniform?
Patients have different preferences. Some want subtle improvements that blend with neighbouring teeth; others prefer a brighter and more uniform appearance. Shade, translucency, texture, edge shape and small natural variations can all influence the final character of a smile.
We encourage specific discussion rather than labels such as “perfect smile”. The dentist also explains where anatomy, material or tooth health limits a requested change.
How long does a smile makeover take in Istanbul?
Timing depends entirely on the components. Whitening or bonding follows a different schedule from multiple ceramic restorations. Orthodontic movement, gum healing, implant treatment or foundational dental care can extend the plan beyond one visit.

What affects the cost?
The cost reflects the diagnosis, number of teeth, selected treatments and materials, laboratory work, temporary restorations and any health-related care required first. A lower quote may involve a different number of teeth or a more invasive approach, so compare the written clinical scope.
Aftercare and maintenance
Aesthetic dentistry still requires routine dental care. Brush and clean between teeth daily, attend examinations and hygiene visits, and use any recommended protective appliance. Whitening may need future top-ups; bonding can need polishing or repair; veneers and crowns require monitoring of the tooth and gum margins.
Frequently asked questions
Is a smile makeover the same as veneers?
No. Veneers are one possible treatment. A smile plan may use whitening, bonding, orthodontics, crowns, gum care or no restorative treatment at all in some areas.
Will my teeth need to be filed down?
That depends on the selected treatment and tooth condition. Whitening requires no reshaping; bonding may need little or no preparation; veneers and crowns require different amounts. The dentist should explain this before consent.
Can I choose the shade and shape?

Can you guarantee the preview?
No preview can guarantee an exact result. It is used to communicate direction and support planning; clinical and laboratory factors still influence the final restoration.
